What happens if I park my vehicle unused for weeks or during the monsoon?
Ethanol is naturally hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture from surrounding air over time. If ethanol-blended petrol is left sitting in an almost empty fuel tank for several months in humid conditions, water can mix with the ethanol and settle at the bottom of the tank—a process known as phase separation.
